Contraindications
A contraindication refers to the risk of side effects
involved in taking a particular drug or undergoing a certain medical procedure.
Some contraindications are known as absolute contraindications this means
that the client is at severe risk if they take the drug and, therefore, it
shouldnt be prescribed.
But other contraindications are known as relative
contraindications. In these cases, there may be a risk of side effects, but the
risk of not taking the drug or undergoing the procedure will be far more
detrimental to the health of the client.
