Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis — otherwise known as "pink eye" or "Madras eye" — is an inflammation of the outermost layer of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids.

Conjunctivitis is usually caused by an allergic reaction, although sometimes it can happen as the result of a viral or bacterial infection.

Symptoms of conjunctivitis include irritation and redness of the eye and sometimes there is a discharge of white/yellow mucus.
