Concussion

Concussion is a head injury, usually caused by traumatic impact that can cause a range of physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms, including brain injury, due to disrupted cellular processes in the brain.

Treatment is rest and in most mild cases, concussion symptoms usually disappear within three weeks unless there are more serious complications. Repeated concussions may lead to brain damage. But it is not known whether concussion can cause permanent brain damage or whether there is just a temporary loss of function.
